ChatGPT vs. Google and the Future of Keyword Search

Artificial intelligence (AI) advances are noteworthy in 2022, with machine-generated art emerging through tools such as OpenAI's DALLE-2 and Stability AI's Stable Diffusion model. AI has been used in various fields such as financial crime prevention, but recently the visibility of AI in popular culture has increased, leading to comparisons between ChatGPT and Google.

Google has become the primary method for information retrieval thanks to its page ranking algorithm and targeted advertising. Despite the existence of other search companies, no one has caught up to Google's charm or changed the field dramatically.

However, analysts believe ChatGPT could pose a significant threat to Google. Bloomberg's Pammie Olsen used a picture of a dinosaur's bones to represent potential concerns ChatGPT has with Alphabet, Google's parent company. While Google indexes data via text crawling robots, ChatGPT uses deep learning based on Transformer models.

Transformers trained on large datasets have proven to be good at understanding text using multi-layer networks. This success can be attributed to the "Attention" feature, which allows the model to determine the most relevant parts of the input data.

This comparison between ChatGPT and Google forces us to rethink the future of search.
